The application took the form of <a href="https://www.aboutamazon.com/stories/aws-random-graph-theory-data-center-network-design">an announcement</a> that Amazon had become &ldquo;the first hyperscaler to build a flat data center network using random graph theory.&rdquo; The implication, sufficiently clear to those who understood it, was that the Society would be obliged to take notice.</p> <p>The Society has taken notice.</p>https://flatnetworksociety.com/proceedings/2026/founding-of-the-proceedings/Thu, 28 May 2026 00:00:00 +0000https://flatnetworksociety.com/proceedings/2026/founding-of-the-proceedings/<p>The Society announces, with the customary absence of fanfare, the establishment of the Proceedings of the Flat Network Society.</p> <p>The Proceedings serve as the place in which members may, at their discretion, publish observations on the network. There is no editorial policy. There is no schedule. There is no peer review of any kind that would be recognized by the IEEE. A member who has something to say submits it; if it is accepted, it appears here.</p>
