The Flat Network Society is an unincorporated association of network engineers. It has no charter, no officers, and no minutes. Its members met on Twitter and now convene, on occasion, at industry conferences.

The Society does not solicit new members. The Society does not respond to inquiries.

The Tenets

  1. There is no spanning tree.
  2. The control plane is a fiction.
  3. East-west traffic is a lifestyle.
  4. Hierarchical addressing was a mistake.
  5. Every packet deserves freedom.
  6. Segmentation is a personal failing.
  7. The network has always been flat.

All traffic handled in strict accordance with Fibre Channel over Token Ring. No rights reserved. The Society does not exist.
